Special Education:
A Guide for Parents and Advocates
Acknowledgements

Many people contributed to the development of this Special Education Guide. Most notable are students with disabilities and their families whose many experiences seeking special education services were a foundation for creating this Guide.

Special Education: A Guide for Parents and Advocates, 3rd Edition, 1995, written by Mary E. Broadhurst and Suzy Harris was used in revising this fourth Edition. The model they provided was key to organizing this updated edition.

With special thanks, we recognize the readers who took the time to review this guide and provide us with valuable suggestions for improving its clarity and simplicity.

Lisandra Adams, Medford
Michael Bailey, Community Partnerships
Donna Helman, Milton-Freewater
Hank Bersani, University Affiliated Program
Ron Hurl, Portland
Judy Wiley, Coalition in Oregon for Parent Education
